At the closing of the day
When skies are melting into grey
I lay and watch the fading light
And wonder where you are tonight.

When did we grow to be apart?
Why did this ache form in my heart?
We didn’t start it out this way
But this is where we find ourselves today.

And Time keeps on slipping through my fingers
Like golden sand rushing through the glass
And days go by although the memory lingers
As the weeks and months and years fly past,
I need you.

The summer never felt so cold.
Emotions never seemed so uncontrolled.
I’d give it all for one more chance to try
To turn time back, and never say goodbye.

But Time keeps on slipping through my fingers
Like golden sand rushing through the glass
And days go by although the memory lingers
As the weeks and months and years fly past,
I need you.

The clock keeps ticking on
Until the Time is gone
And though your smile is etched within my heart
I can’t bring back the Time we’ve spent apart.

‘Cuz Time keeps on slipping through my fingers
Like golden sand rushing through the glass
And days go by although the memory lingers
As the weeks and months and years fly past,
I need you.

Time with you.
